Interesting read. And while certain similarities between Hitler and Bush exists (as the article implies but doesn't directly state) they are just that, similarities. Not parallels. Are emergency powers compared with Patriot Act? If so it's a lousy comparison. Are special courts and protective custody compared to Gitmo?
Also all US elections since 2001 were fair, contested and candidates had same chances as prior to 2001. In 2006 Democrats won in both houses for heaven's sake. Can anybody imagine communists or social democrats winning german elections after 1993?
